Barefoot By The Sea: Mermaid Academy

This is a creative endeavor years in the making. A full introductory course designed for beginner mermaids with a desire to learn how to safely swim in a mermaid tail. Taught by me, Mermaid Dorian, under the sunny Florida Keys skies, you can discover for yourself the wonderment of mermaiding in an enclosed environment. Focusing on breathwork, wellness, and safety, mermaiding is a holistic exercise that will expand your fitness level, calm your soul, and connect you to our sacred ocean.

  • Ages 6+

    This is a 90 minute mermaid certification course with the primary goal of teaching water safety and proper swim form in a mermaid tail. Designed specifically for ages 6+, a basic swim test must be completed to move to the first Mermaid Module of the course. Upon completion, a certificate will be awarded to the newest members of the Barefoot By The Sea Mermaid Pod, along with a very special Key West keepsake.

  • Ages 18+

    In this 90 minute course designed for advanced swimmers 18+, we will focus on proper safety, technique, and rescue modules of swimming in a mermaid tail. In this introductory course, you will earn your Barefoot By The Sea Mermaid Academy Certificate by completing a series of modules within the timeframe. This is a perfect course for expanding fitness levels into the aquatic realm, practicing breathwork techniques, and having some mermaid fun in the sun!

With over a decade of water safety and certified skill sets, Mermaid Dorian is an SDI certified professional mermaid and NAUI certified Rescue Diver. She has been mermaiding professionally in the Florida Keys since 2017.
