Barefoot in Havana
The pool (or as I call it, Mermaid Lagoon), at Havana Cabana is arguably one of the most beautiful pools in Key West, backed with a gorgeous rock waterfall and clear blue water year-round. It’s the spot for island events, music festivals, and enjoying life under the palms. Many mornings, afternoons, and even nights, were spent training in this pool, and coming up with different concepts for Barefoot By The Sea.
Knowing there is a scarcity of family friendly activities in Key West, this is where the idea of creating Barefoot By The Sea: Mermaid Academy first came to fruition. Providing mermaid entertainment is one thing; teaching how to safely “mermaid” in a tail is a whole different wave pool.
